Another Top Three Finish For Crum
Statesville, NC: Jake Crum and the #1 Chevrolet captured another top five finish on Saturday night at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA. Crum qualified 8th for the night’s 150 lap race and had worked his way up to 2nd by the time the checkered flag waved.
“We ran out of time to be able to get the win,” said Team Owner, Billy Crum. “We spent most of the night getting caught behind cars blocking us from passing them. By the time we were able to get through the cars we had run out of laps.”
Crum slipped back into second in the points standings after Richard Boswell, who was five points behind him, won the race. Crum did, however, gain on the third and fourth place drivers in the points.
“We just need to make sure we finish ahead of Boswell these last three races,” said Billy. “We went through a rough patch with car problems but we think all those are behind us. We just need to stay focused on the last three races.”
Crum will be at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA this Wednesday practicing for the Bailey’s 300. He will be running in the #21 Tamco Chevrolet. Qualifying for the race is on Saturday, September 27 with the race the following day. This race is the premier late model race of the year.
