Crum Holds Onto Points Lead in the UARA

Statesville, NC: After Team Crum Racing tore the #1 Chevrolet engine apart after their last race at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC they thought they had their overheating problem fixed. However the car had other plans.

Jake Crum went out ready to race and increase his points lead. After concrete repair was done to the track, the UARA Stars were ready to qualify. Crum was third in line and spun the 8th fastest time of the evening.

Unfortunately his night did not get any better. Shortly into the race the car started overheating. The crew brought the car in several times trying to fix the problem causing Jake to lose laps. He ended the night in 16th out of 24 car field due to the electrical problems.

“We were able to figure out what the problem was on Sunday with the car,” said Team Owner Billy Crum. “We think it should be an easy fix. Nick (Hutchins) has been working hard all season to make sure the car is ready to go each race day.”

Despite the finish Crum still holds onto the points lead.

Crum’s next race will be at Tri County Motor Speedway in Hudson, NC on Friday, August 29th.
