Crum Returns to Race With the UARA Stars:
Brings home third place finish

Statesville, NC: After spending a couple months not running the UARA-Stars Series, the 2008 Champion, Jake Crum returned, showing everyone why he was the champion as he wheeled the #1 XB-Fit Energy drink into a 3rd place finish.

Crum’s day started off a little bit slow at Orange County Speedway. He ran 8th fastest in the first round of practice but slipped back to 17th fastest during the second round.

“Our car wasn’t exactly where we wanted it,” said Crum. “We kept working on it trying to make sure when it came time to race it would be ready.”

Sure enough it was. Crum qualified 11th for the nights 150 lap race. He slowly worked his way through the field picking off cars one at a time while trying to make sure he avoided any accidents around him. When the checkered flag waved he was sitting in third place.

“We did not have a top three car,” said team owner Billy Crum. “However, Jake was able to take what was probably a top eight car and get it up to third. I am always amazed with his driving ability.”
